Alignment
Control how text is positioned within your flashcards using the alignment settings for better visual presentation and improved readability.
Position text within your flashcards using the alignment settings available in the card editing interface. You can control both horizontal and vertical positioning for each card face.
Horizontal Alignment
Control horizontal positioning with three options: Left, Center (default), or Right
Left Alignment
Left-aligned heading\nThis content is aligned to the left side of the card. Use this for longer text content that reads better when left-aligned.
Center Alignment (Default)
Centered heading\nThis content is centered in the card. This is the default alignment and works well for most content.
Right Alignment
Right-aligned heading\nThis content is aligned to the right side of the card. Less commonly used but available when needed.
Vertical Alignment
Control vertical positioning with three options: Top, Middle (default), or Bottom
Top Alignment
Content positioned at the top of the card. Great for maximizing reading space when you have longer content.
Middle Alignment (Default)
Content positioned in the middle of the card. This is the default and provides a balanced, centered appearance.
Bottom Alignment
Content positioned at the bottom of the card. Useful for specific design needs or emphasis.
Combined Alignment
Use both horizontal and vertical alignment together for precise positioning.
You can combine horizontal and vertical alignment settings to position content precisely where you want it. Use the alignment dropdown menus in the card editor to set both horizontal (left, center, right) and vertical (top, middle, bottom) positioning independently.
Best Practices
✅ Do: Use left alignment for long text or lists that are easier to read when left-aligned
✅ Do: Use center alignment (default) for short phrases, titles, or balanced content
✅ Do: Use top alignment for content-heavy cards to maximize reading space
✅ Do: Consider your content type when choosing alignment - formulas might look better centered, while code snippets work well left-aligned
❌ Don't: Change alignment unnecessarily - the defaults (center/middle) work well for most content
❌ Don’t: Use different alignments on front/back faces unless there’s a specific reason, as it can be jarring
